After hesitating for a long time between adopting a dog or a cat, a few years ago,
I finally opted a kind of mix : a Yorkshire !
(the size of a cat and character of a dog).
After searching lots of informations about their specific skills and needs, it appeared
to me that this small being would perfectly meet my expectations : a loyal friend, very tied
to his master whose presence and affection is needed, so the York can feed
his master back with the fun and the joys of life, thanks to his enthusiasm, proud character and curiosity for everything.
I wasn’t wrong… so approximately a year and a half later, I took a girl for my first little boy : Fripouille turned 9 last July (the 2nd) and Coquine (born on January the 20th)
is already 7 years old.
I usually get to the bottom of things when I am passionate. So I investigated a lot
on the web and read many books about the best way to feed, educate, take care of and live with
my two new companions. And despite all informations I found, I felt a lack of specific ones about Yorkshires ; because this nice breed needs specific kind of attentions.
I surely don’t pretend to list on this web site an exhaustive inventory of these specific attentions needed ; my ambition is just to share what I learned and discovered so that we try together to give back to these adorable small beings the love they give us.
Looking forward to share with you on social medias
and thus enrich the content of this web site together,
Eva, Fripouille and Coquine
(and sorry for my English; I try to do my best but I am French !...)

Some topics for reflections
Good little dishes

The overwhelming majority of veterinarians from whom we naturally take advice, recommend dry food for our Yorkshires (of very good quality) so that these croquettes contribute in particular to eliminating tartar during chewing...
Toys galore

Make no mistake : No matter how small they are, Yorkshires are formidable predators !
Their teeth are indeed so sharp
that like a battery of needles,
they laminate in just a few minutes most of the toys offered on
the market today...
Bright outfits

Unlike most other canine breeds, Yorkshires have no coat or undercoat, but real hair.
And just like our hair grows, their own grows about 1 cm per month and need to be cut from time to time...
Beauty treatment

The Yorkshire being a very proud
little dog, his coat must be the subject
of our greatest care.
Certainly it is possible to opt for
a short cut which will require less maintenance, but I would admit to prefer to see my Yorks evolve with
a beautiful and long coat, which gives more elegance and movement...
Behave well

The education of Yorkshires,
as for small dogs in general, does not really involve some
of the imperatives related to
the education of most large
or medium-sized breeds,
of the Malinois type for example...
